Wanna Quilt-Along?

Anyone Up For A Quilt-Along?

Would anyone be up for doing a Denyse Schmidt quilt-along? I know there's a lot of people who are really excited about the new Denyse Schmidt Quilts: 30 Colorful Quilt and Patchwork Patterns book (including myself!!) and this could be a great way for all of us to encourage and learn from what we're all doing. If you're intimidated by doing a big quilt don't worry--there's lots of other small paterns included in the book that you could participate with.

I'm thinking that we'll start sometime after the first week of August. That'll let people have some time to think about what they'd like to get started with, and pick up a copy of the book (I just ordered mine yesterday!). There's no deadline and no pressure to finish your projects by a certain date.

If you're interested in joining in, leave a comment or drop me an e-mail!

Oh gosh, I would really love to. Tentatively put me down. I'm in the Modern Quiltalong too and of course I have a bunch of xmas crap to make, but it is super tempting.

I wanna do it too! (Thanks for the invite, Sarah!) I think I want to do Drunk Love 2 Tone. I'll start thinking monochromatic right now.

I'll put in a tentative yes as well. I need to get back to quilting. I've been busy with life related things and lately have been knitting and cross stitching so it's time to start quilting again. I'll have to look for a copy of the book.

I wonder if Kim and Sarah are aware that their blogs are listed in the back of Denyse's book? What an honor! Clearly you have made it into the Hip Crafter's Hall of Fame (HCHF)!

Ooohh, how about a tentative yes... I'd really like to, just worried about how much I have going on... But, I will be in my quilting class starting mid-August, so that might give me enough time to get to all these quilts!

Yay! It looks like we've got a pretty good group! Remember, if you want to participate and aren't sure you've got a lot of extra time, there are some smaller projects you could tackle too.

Karen: I heard about my weblog's listing in the book--I'm so flatterd by that and I can't wait to get my book so I can actually see it! Hopefully the mailman will like me today.

Not having EVER quilted anything (apart from a hack tea cosy), it's a bit ambitious of me (I'm doing the modern QA too!), but yea, what the heck! My copy of the book is in the mail and I can't wait :)

And, congrats on the mention!

thanks for getting this going...every one sounds compatable...too many projects but easily swayed by great ideas. I also found this site by checking out the back of Denyse's book and looking up some of her suggestions. Karen

I want to join if I still can! I just bought the book today and it will be my very first crack ever at quilting so I'm hoping that the Quilt-AL will be helpful!
Thanks!

Is it too late to join? I've recently purchased the book and hope to start quilting soon.
