awesome. It's nice to have a fellow hand quilter in the blogsphere. I totally understand the whole...uh still working on it thing. I get depressed sometimes when i see the post titled "the quilt I made today" truthfully though I love hand quilting. It is so relaxing

It's worth the thread, believe me. The beads look amazing. Yup I'm a hand quilter too. It's the best bit, when the quilt really comes alive.

Hand quilters unite! I've gotten used to the blank stares when people see me hand piecing and quilting. But I do have my moments of envy for the people who are whipping out quilts left, right and center on their machines.

But in the end, I much prefer the hand quilted one. For some reason (maybe it's just me) the machine quilted ones I've seen lately have all become more about the machine quilting than the quilt design itself.

The original design of the quilt seems to take a back seat to what the nifty machine can do with the quilting. So keep on working on those beads, they are fabulous.

Oh please keep going - I can't wait to see it finished. Hand quilting takes a long time but so worth it. At the moment I am in the middle of hand quiliting a quilt and my fingers are callused and sore but I know in the end it will all be worth it.

What beautiful quilting. I just stumbled upon your Love Beads and wanted to give you applause for both the Big Idea and the investment of time you've made. When we designed the quilt we were so eager to see how it would be interpreted and you're quilt is a great example. You might be interested to know that Houghton Mifflin (the publisher) bought the photo rights to the original Love Beads quilt to use on the cover of a colleg mathematics text.

Lovely, lovely quilting and done 'properly' ie by hand. There is no comparison with machine quilting, as the finish just glows. You can tell how I spend my spare time.....! Good luck!

Am beginning to choose fabrics for the same quilt. Your pix are very inspiring! What a great quilt. How far apart are you quilting the circles...looks like 1/8th? And your plans for the background? Would live to know.
